Billing & Estimates

How Billing & Estimates Work

A simple, transparent path from your first call — free consultation, written estimate, then straightforward hourly billing.

Three Simple Steps

Billing always follows the same easy rhythm: a free conversation, a clear written estimate, then hourly work you have already approved.

1. Free One-Hour Consultation

Before anything is billed, we meet — typically in your home — for a free, one-hour consultation. We listen to your goals, look at the scope of your project, and answer your questions. There is no cost and no obligation to this visit.

2. A Written Estimate

After the consultation, we put everything in writing. Your estimate outlines the scope of work we discussed, the services we recommend, and how your time will be billed. You review it before any work begins — no pressure, no surprises.

3. Hourly Billing

Once you are ready to move forward, work is billed by the hour. We do not publish a single flat rate because every project is different — your hourly rate is spelled out in your written estimate so you always know exactly how you are being billed.

What Drives an Estimate

Every home, family, and timeline is different. These are the questions we work through together to build a fair, accurate estimate for your project.

The size of the home and the volume of belongings to be sorted, packed, and moved.

How much sorting, downsizing, and decluttering the project requires.

Packing needs and the packing supplies your move will use.

Space planning and scaled floor plans for the new home.

Coordination with movers, senior communities, estate partners, and other professionals.

Unpacking and full home setup at your new space.

Your timeline, deadlines, and how much of the project you would like us to handle.

The number of team members your project will require.

What Your Free Consultation Includes

One hour, in your home, completely free of charge

An honest, expert look at the scope of your project

A conversation about your goals, timeline, and concerns

Clear next steps — and a written estimate to follow

Good to Know

Billing is hourly — you pay for the time your project actually takes.

Your hourly rate and expected hours are detailed in your written estimate.

We do not publish a flat rate because no two projects are alike.

Your estimate is a good-faith projection, not a fixed quote.

If the scope of your project changes, we talk it through with you first.

Third-party costs — movers, shippers, estate sales — are always separate and discussed in advance.

Why We Don't Publish a Rate

A two-bedroom apartment and a four-bedroom home with a full basement are worlds apart. Pricing by the hour keeps things fair — you pay for the time your project actually needs, and your specific rate is confirmed in writing before any work begins.
